Family legend goes that my Great Grandfather helped build the building in Stanley Park Blackpool as part of his brick laying apprenticeship in the 1920s. He was training to be a brick layer as his father insisted he needed a trade rather than play professionally for Blackpool football club which he managed to get through try outs for, but in those days professional football didn’t pay the wages.
