I remember when I moved to Thornton from Fleetwood as a young child, starting a new school the only school trip I remember was going to the newly refurbished Marsh Mill and the new shopping village there.

As an adult, the first house both my children remember living in was near the Marsh Mill, and I had a pottery shop at the Marsh Mill Village not long after I graduated from University for the first time.

The Fylde coast was known as windmill land due to so many windmills in a small area. It just proves how windy it is here. The local windmill caps around here are reminiscent of boats as fishing was a major industry locally and the boat builders built the original boat-inspired caps.
