Despite the weather people from walk 9 came and someone who has been to walk 2. The rain was horizontal, so as we walked to the museum they took pity on us and let us into the museum. Also I got to the museum and realised I forgot my camera, so I just had my phone.
Fleetwood Museum is the old Customs House and is part of the ferry story anyway,
My own sketches, top is a fish filleting knife from donated by an old crew member. Middle is a fish barrel on a trolley. Bottom is a sketch based on a model of the Viking 66 which served as Fleetwood Ferry from 1967 to the 80s or 90s, but was not well suited to the crossing.
The Museum staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, and participants wandered through the museum with drawing materials.
We also got a look inside te new part of the museum at 8 Queens Terrace, with a tour of a few areas, including the servants quarters that still had the original wood fired range, wooden shutters, and laundry area.
So even though it wasn’t the day I had planned sketching the old RoRo bridge and the Ferry. We even talked about a ferry crossing but the group wasn’t keen.
